As of October 13th, Alameda County elementary schools (transitional kindergarten-6th grade) that complete a COVID-19 health and safety reopening plan are permitted to open.The decision and timing of when to open rests with each school and school district, and schools are not required to open if not ready. What does this mean for CCS? Our CCS leadership team is working on a timeline and plans for reopening our elementary school for after October 13th. Definitive timelines and reopen details will be shared shortly. Please pray for CCS reopening!

Dear Church Family,
Esther and I recently returned from a most joyful time with our grandchildren, our daughter and son-in-law.
Proverbs 17:6 is so true:
“Grandchildren are the crowning glory of the aged; parents are the pride of their children. “(NLT)
A commentary said it this way:
Behind this apparently innocuous proverb is a profound assertion of the psychological interdependence of the generations. Elders derive a sense of pride from their descendants, and children get their self-worth from parents. Garrett, D. A. (1993). Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of songs
It was needed break of laughter and fun (except when they were fighting!), playing with them and enjoying their innocence and cuteness as babies.
Proverbs 17:22 is also true when it says:
“A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” (ESV)
This time away reminded me of the need in this challenging season to occasionally find a source for fun and laughter!
