ENCOURAGEMENT

Dear Church Family,

I recently watched some of the new Netflix series Our Planet, which is similar to the BBC Planet Earth nature documentary. It reminded me that there is a beautiful world outside while we are “stuck” in our homes due to shelter-in-place and the bad air quality.

I am sure many of you have seen nature documentaries. God designed and created our earth, and these nature programs always confirm this truth in my mind and heart. The animal kingdom and plant kingdom depend on one another with great precision and complexity. Watching the show, I found myself thinking how great God is and spontaneously exclaiming words like “wow,” “amazing,” and “beautiful.”

And above all of God’s creation, humanity is His best! David wrote in this Psalm:

”When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?
Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.
You have given him dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet,
all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field,
the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas.
O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!” Psalm 8:3-9
