In addition to preaching, Tom Latham is committed to friendship evangelism. He believes that it is the most successful form of soul winning they have ever used. Over the past 20 plus years, they have been using wrestling as an evangelistic outreach to public school students and their parents. They now finally are seeing the results they have been praying for. They thank God that through programs that include wrestling, puppets and mime dramas, many have come to Christ and some have been baptized.

Tom & Penny have served in Brazil for 46 years. We at BACBC have supported them for almost all of those years. They have been married for 54 years.

Baptist World Mission (Brazil) – Tom and Penny Latham were in the US for a family reunion in March. Pastor Latham also preached at a Dallas church that he had not visited for 20 years. He returned to Brazil on March 27 and Penny two weeks later.

Tom and Penny Latham came back to Brazil on June 10 (2021) from a 3-month furlough. Right away they had to rebuild their baptistry as the termites had eaten all of the wood. They had some people make salvation decisions so they started new convert classes.

Baptist World Mission (Brazil) – For part of the last six months, Tom and Penny Latham have had to do their church services on Facebook because of COVID-19. Then the ban was lifted and they now can have up to 30 in a meeting.
