Derek grew up at BACBC and after graduating from Chico State, he followed God's leading to serve with InterVarsity. He is married to Chelsea (who also works for IV) and they have a daughter, Noemi, who will be 2 years old in January. They have been evangelizing and discipling students at Shasta College (NorCal)
