Tom and Penny Latham came back to Brazil on June 10 (2021) from a 3-month furlough. Right away they had to rebuild their baptistry as the termites had eaten all of the wood. They had some people make salvation decisions so they started new convert classes.

Derek completed 5 years with InterVarsity last month. Both Derek and Chelsea have accepted new leadership roles within IV: Chelsea as Associate Area Director of Planting and Staff Development (targeting unreached campuses!) and Derek as Leadership and Scripture Coordinator

This newer missions organization BACBC supports celebrated their 21st anniversary in June. BACBC began supporting jnX in November 2021 but they have partnered with our Cantonese Department for Worship Outreach events and other ministry opportunities over the years.

This month's issue has Scripture passages for us to pray for the persecuted. After each article, there is one sentence of what to specifically pray for in that particular situation.

Brian and Faith Janssen are on home assignment in Vancouver, WA from July 2021 through June 2022. During the summer, they visited family and friends in Vancouver, BC; Kirkland, WA; and New Jersey.

May was Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month and Mental Health Month. The irony is that given recent shootings and Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities, mental health issues are often shrouded in silence and shame.
